Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing

For those with deeper wrinkling or fine lines, severe sun damage or acne scars, fractional CO2 laser resurfacing is the gold standard, offering patients an alternative to the old ablative CO2 technology with more rapid healing and remarkable results. With technological advances, the fractional CO2 laser has become the most sought-after tool for skin resurfacing. Fractional technology allows many tiny, micron-sized laser beams to penetrate deep into the dermis while preserving much of the skin’s surface. This creates tiny columns of tissue contraction and new collagen formation deep in the dermis, while allowing the surface to heal rapidly, shortening the healing and downtime from a few weeks to a few days. Dramatic improvement in skin texture, laxity, pigmentation, wrinkles and acne scars is evident after a week with continued improvement in a matter of months as the collagen continues to tighten and smooth.

Some refer to this treatment as a ‘laser Facelift’ because it does tighten the skin, but its effects are more dramatic for wrinkling and fine, crepe-like skin, especially for areas that cannot be treated by Botox or fillers. The active part of this procedure takes 40-45 minutes and is made comfortable with oral pain medications, topical and local anesthetics. No general anesthesia is needed. Fractional resurfacing may be performed on the entire face including eyelids, neck and décolletage. Because post-procedure care is equally important as the treatment itself for stimulating new collagen, Dr. Cavalli includes a post-care kit in the price of the CO2 laser treatment. After 5-7 days of appearing sun-blistered, the skin will emerge feeling tighter, smoother and uniform in appearance.

YAG Laser Blood Vessel Treatment

For larger or more stubborn vessels on the face or for certain small, resistant leg veins, this powerful laser helps to clear those vessels that sclerotherapy and/or IPL laser treatment cannot. It works particularly well for spider angiomas of the face (which many times require only one treatment), dilated blood vessels around the nose and central cheeks, and on certain vascular birthmarks. During your consultation, Dr. Cavalli will let you know which treatment would be best for your condition.

IPL Photorejuvenation

This non-invasive treatment can correct many different skin conditions including broken capillaries, age spots, birthmarks and other skin imperfections. There is no downtime following the treatments, which usually last 20 minutes. The treatments are generally broken down into 4-6 sessions to ensure quality long-term results. Ask our staff if the state-of-the-art IPL™ (Intense Pulsed Light) technology is right for you.

IPL Laser Vein Treatment

Spider and varicose veins affects millions of men and women across the world. Generally, multiple treatments are needed and are determined by the extent of your problem. Our doctor can determine whether this IPL treatment is right for you.

IPL Hair Removal

If you’re looking for a long-lasting solution to hair removal, our Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology may be for you. Proven safe and effective, this technology uses small flashes of light which heat the hair and the follicles under the skin’s surface. The light is controlled so as not to damage any surrounding tissue. With little to no downtime, this treatment has become a popular option in permanent hair reduction.

As with all laser treatments, a consultation is required to determine if this treatment is right for you. It is important that the hair in question be visible at the time of your consultation. So, do not pluck, wax or shave prior to that visit. Hair shafts must be evaluated for color, thickness, location and follicle density for an accurate consultation to be performed.

Those taking certain medications, herbal remedies or dietary supplements or those who are tan or spray-tanned should not undergo treatment. White, gray and blond hair does not respond to any laser hair removal techniques because there is not enough melanin pigment in the hair shaft to absorb the light energy. This procedure works best on those with darker hairs on a contrasting background of light skin. Underarm and bikini-line hair is usually very amenable to laser treatment while facial hair is more stubborn.
